Another test useful for identifying Gram positive cocci is the growth results using bile esculin agar. A slant of the agar is streaked and stabbed, and after incubation the results are interpreted. It is most useful for distinguishing among Streptococci.
To see how this test is performed and explore its value in identifying bacteria, go to MDM and complete Exercise 17.
Your instructor will direct you on what to turn in - Virtual Lab Report, MDM Exercise 17, or other. When done, you may be asked to take a quiz over this material.
